A Toronto-based company this week relaunched its high-availability software for small and mid-sized businesses using IBMs eServer iSeries systems.

DataMirrors Simple HA (high availability) for $60K program includes the companys iCluster technology, which iSeries businesses can use to mirror data in real-time from the systems to multiple recovery systems. In case of an outage, it also ensures switching from one system to another.

ICluster includes a Java graphical user interface to manage iSeries clusters, integrated remote journaling support and enhanced trigger support, according to the company.

Simple HA for $60K also includes such services as implementation and support.

The package is designed to give small and mid-sized iSeries businesses the same resiliency and high availability enjoyed by larger companies, according to the company.

The product comes on the heels of IBMs announcement last month that it was re-energizing the iSeries line with new servers equipped with IBMs suite of enterprise software, including Lotus Quickplace, WebSphere and Tivoli management products. In addition, some new models will feature what IBM calls On/Off Capacity On Demand, a new technology that enables users to switch processors on and off for a fee. In addition, several servers will feature IBMs 64-bit Power4 chips.
