NEC Solutions (America) Inc. on Monday announced new synchronization software that will be bundled with NEC Corp.s mobile devices.

The MobilePro Synchronization System provides remote access, either wired or wireless, to either Lotus Notes or Microsoft Exchange platforms.

On the client side, the software will be embedded on NEC Corp.s MobilePro 790 and P300 handheld devices, but it can be installed on any computers that use Microsoft Corp.s Pocket PC or Windows-based operating systems. On the server side, the software will sit behind a companys firewall, said NEC officials in Sacramento, Calif. Pricing is $138 per user.

The system includes various management and file distribution features for administrators. For example, they can send file-specific updates to their workforce so that only changes to a previous file would be downloaded instead of the entire file.

The system is available immediately through the companys Web site and through resellers.
