The best way to find out how internal or external customers feel is to ask, and three Web survey applications reviewed by eWEEK Labs can make it relatively easy to effectively reach out to a large customer base.

We evaluated three Web survey packages released this month: Inquisite Inc.s Inquisite 6.5, Perseus Development Corp.s SurveySolutions/Enterprise Feedback Management 1.1 and Raosoft Inc.s EZSurvey 2004 Professional for the Internet Service Release 1. We found that the products deliver most of whats necessary for building Web surveys, especially when it comes to randomization of questions and tools for building complex questionnaires.

Each product tested distinguishes itself in a particular area. Inquisite 6.5 provides robust management capabilities; SurveySolutions/EFM 1.1 offers lots of output flexibility; and EZSurvey 2004 has security features sure to please IT managers, although it lacks the intuitive GUI that its competitors provide.
