BP3 Global, a global provider of business process and decision management (BPM) software and services, has landed a $10 million investment from Nashville, Tenn.-based private equity firm Petra Capital Partners, LLC.

The investment will help BP3 Global augment development of its Brazos platform, which collects data, surfaces actionable insights and makes suggestions or changes to a business process. Brazos can be deployed in desktop or mobile devices.

Austin, Texas-based BP3 Global provides BPM software and services for Fortune 500 companies in the United States and around the world. Its primary product is Brazos Suite, which includes the Brazos UI toolkit that features a user interface; it is mobile ready, has a drag-and-drop document upload, and can customize end users’ BPM experiences.

The company also makes Brazos Portal, which features per-user task organization, is mobile ready, and has a built-in key term search; and Brazos Charts for report creation. It also offers Neches Suite, a subscription-based software service that includes Neches for analysis, which compares clients’ BPM projects with others in a community to measure effectiveness.

“The big disconnect in the analytics space is that, while software gives companies a look into operations, managers don’t know how to exploit the data,” CEO Scott Francis said. “Our customers use our Brazos platform and services to turn actionable suggestions about a customer, employee, or piece of equipment into decisions that boost profit, satisfaction or safety.”

Here’s a use-case example: When a water-and-sewer authority was told by its regulator to decrease the occurrence of pollution-causing spills from its system, BP3 integrated software that analyzed varying conditions in the utility’s lines. By connecting to hundreds of newly installed monitors in the utility pipes, BP3 fed results to a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system and a work-management system for dispatching utility crews.

BP3 is now working to add predictive analytics to preemptively flag potential issues.

Petra Capital Partners is a Nashville, Tenn.-based private equity firm engaged in providing growth capital for technology, business service and healthcare companies located throughout the United States. Petra’s record spans 20-pus years investing more than $650 million in 100-plus companies.
