Service-centric IT management specialist Neebula Systems announced the launch of ServiceWatch, a cloud-based discovery and dependency mapping platform that automates the service modeling process, mapping all IT infrastructure components, including hardware and software, providing IT administrators with a single-pane dashboard view into the health of critical services.

The company is also offering a free 30-day preview of the service, which targets businesses seeking a flexible and scalable IT management platform.

Offered as a software as a service (SaaS) platform, ServiceWatch was designed to encourage businesses to shift from managing data center silos such as servers, network, storage and applications to managing end-user business services like CRM, billing, tax payment and fund transfer services, with the aim of avoiding downtime of critical business services when implementing IT changes, as well as discover and model business services. As part of the trial promotion, the company is also giving potential customers the chance to win a Nexus 7 tablet.

“ServiceWatch empowers IT administrators by allowing them to focus first on the business service, which is what their end-user consumes and cares about most,” Ariel Gordon, vice president of products and co-founder of Neebula, said in prepared remarks. “No more frustrating ‘boil the ocean’ activities to discover and manually create relationships between IT assets that are immediately out-of-date. The SaaS-delivered nature of ServiceWatch reinforces Neebula’s ability to deliver immediate and actionable results by removing the onus of up-front capital expenditures, complex installations, services-assisted configurations, and the headaches of managing yet another tool on-premise.”

The company recently announced the addition of two senior executives, Bob Johnson, who will serve as chief marketing officer, and Ilan Shmargad, who will be vice president of business development. Johnson previously worked as director of marketing and product management for Cisco’s SaaS/managed services organization, while Shmargad’s background includes serving as vice president of business development at Identify Software, acquired by BMC.

“We’re scaling to serve our growing clientele of global enterprises, government and education customers in North America and Europe,” Yuval Cohen, CEO of Neebula, said in a press statement. “Our goal is to free today’s IT administrator from the drudgery of understanding details about how specific physical and virtual assets, among the thousands of assets deployed in a typical data center, combine to provide a business service while empowering them to manage services better by helping to pinpoint issues before they impact an end-user business service.”
