Many executives who served former Novell chairman and CEO Ray Noorda have long since left the company. Heres a look at four of Noordas more memorable lieutenants and their current positions.

John Edwards

Former Post

: Executive VP who served as Noordas right-hand man during the WordPerfect takeover. It was Edwards who faced the press the day Novell acquired WordPerfect.

: CEO of I-Link, a communications ASP for the Voice-over-IP market.

Richard King

Former Post

: Executive VP who oversaw NetWares rise to dominance. He led much of the war against Windows NT and assisted with Novells bloody DR-DOS battle against Microsoft.

Ty Mattingly

Former Post

: Executive director; VP of strategic relations. Mattingly was Noordas personal handler for quite some time. He joined Novells failed Novonyx venture before leaving the company.

: Executive VP of business development at SBI, an e-solutions provider.

Kanwal Rekhi

Former Post

: Executive VP and CTO who joined Novell via the 1988 Excelan merger. Rekhi tried to merge UnixWare with NetWare. After that effort flopped, he retired from Novell in 1995.
