IQinVisions IQeye2 internet camera can help companies make sure that none of their equipment “walks out the door.” It can be easily integrated into a network to provide quality monitoring, live surveillance and imaging over a LAN or WAN.

The $795 unit has a built-in Web server and 10/100M-bps Ethernet port to process images and display them to the Web. Web-based administration made configuration a snap. Those interested in catching someone in the act can quickly gain access to the color images using Web browsers such as Internet Explorer 5.0 or can use the included nView software, a real-time image viewing utility.

Images can be displayed at resolutions up to 640 by 480 pixels over a LAN, even though the frame rate is fairly low, about 8 frames per second. The camera must be focused manually; there are no zoom functions—but then these surveillance shots probably wont be up for Oscars.
