LAS VEGAS–Buffalo Technologies introduced three new products at CES.

The WHR2-G54 is a 4-port router with a stateful packet inspection firewall and 802.11g wireless radio. It features Buffalos Airstation Onetouch Secure System (AOSS), a single, one-touch configuration button that automatically configures the access point and client workstation. New in this release is FTTH (Ok, another acronym: Fiber to the Home). Its not a big deal in the United States yet, but will prove to be very popular in Asia where FTTH is more prevalent. Street price is $199.

Buffalo also announced the WRB-G54K (where do they come up with these model numbers?) consisting of a WBR-G54 router and a WLA-G54C repeater. The kit, which provides extended range, will sell for $199. The repeater in the kit comes pre-configured to work with the router in the kit.

Finally, a really exciting announcement is the HD-H120LAN LinkStation. This is a 120 GB network-attached storage device that has a built-in USB print server, and Ethernet port, and two USB 2.0 ports. This device features user- and group-level permissions and is compatible with Windows, MAC, and Linux clients. The USB ports can be used to add additional USB hard drives to increase network storage. This product is priced at a very affordable $299. Look for an upcoming review from PC Magazine on this product. Its currently in PC Labs undergoing testing.
