In response to the SMS vulnerabilities in the iPhone software discussed at Black Hat in late-July, Apple released iPhone OS 3.0.1 for its mobile devices.


Only SMS Fix

According to the information dialog, the update addresses only the SMS issues.

For the iPhone 3G and 3GS models, the new version of the OS is 297.9MB.

About 10 minutes after the download completes, the iPhone reboots, now loaded with 3.0.1 code.
