Samsung has announced its Notebook 3 and Notebook 5 laptops, which feature a choice of Intel processors and several display sizes.
Offered as part of the company’s everyday premium laptop line, the machines also include dual solid-state drive (SSD) and hard drive storage, full-size keyboards and DDR4 memory. Two models of the Notebook 3 were unveiled, as well as one model of the Notebook 5.
Notebook 3 Models
The Notebook 3 is available in a 14-inch version with an HD display, or in a 15-inch version with a Full HD display. Both versions can be purchased with either an Intel Core i7 quad-core processor or an Intel dual-core processor. The 14-inch model includes shared graphics memory, while the 15-inch model includes an Nvidia GeForce MX110 graphics chip with 2GB of memory. Both versions also include a 43-watt/hour battery, a VGA camera and ac1x1 LAN (10/100) networking capabilities.
The 14-inch Notebook 3 is 13.2 inches wide, 9.2 inches tall and 0.78 inches thick, and weighs 3.66 pounds, while the 15-inch Notebook 3 is 14.9 inches wide, 9.8 inches tall and 0.77 inches thick, and weighs 4.3 pounds. Both Notebook 3 models come with a no-screws outer shell for a sleek appearance and will be available in Misty Gray, Night Charcoal, Deep Peach and Pure White colors.
The Samsung Notebook 5
The larger Notebook 5 model includes a 15.6-inch Full HD display with wide-angle viewing capabilities, a choice of an Intel Core i7 quad-core processor or an Intel dual-core processor, an Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphics chip with 2GB of GDDR5 memory, a 43-watt/hour battery, a VGA camera and ac1x1 LAN (10/100) networking capabilities. The Notebook 5 will be available in a Light Titan color with metal trim.
The Notebook 3 and Notebook 5 laptops are slated to be sold initially in Korea starting in April, and then will be available in other select countries, including China and Brazil, in the second quarter of 2018, according to Samsung.
Prices for the machines have not yet been announced.
