Retina Display

The new iPad’s Retina Display boasts 2048 by 1536 resolution.


iOS 5.1

With the iOS 5.1 software update, new features include a personal hotspot, a redesigned camera app, and seamless interaction with iCloud, which syncs data (such as ebooks and other media) between iOS devices.


iPhoto

The new iPhoto incorporates Multi-Touch in order to sort through (and adjust) images, which can then be shared via iCloud.


iMovie

The revamped iMovie lets users leverage the new iPad’s ability to shoot 1080p video in order to create movies (and trailers for those movies).


iWork

Apple has also revamped iWork to take increased advantage of the new iPad’s Retina Display.

The new iPad will keep the same prices as the previous model, starting at $499 for WiFi-only versions, and $629 for those with 4G capability. Prices top out at $699 for the WiFi-only 64GB model, and $829 for the 64GB model with WiFi and 4G.Â


Dictation

Another new iPad feature is dictation, which transcribes users’ words into text. It cooperates with third-party apps, such as Twitter.


A5X

The new A5X processor features quad-core graphics.

The new iPad is a little heavier than the previous edition, at 1.4 pounds, and offers comparable battery life.
