Updated: Information continues to spring from Verizon Wireless, which has bet heavily on Google’s Android operating system for phones and tablet computers.
Boy Genius Report said Verizon and its partner in Droid phones Motorola are building a tablet with a 10-inch screen powered by a 1 GHz or 1.3 GHz processor.
The tablet, according to the gadget blog, will boast a front-facing camera for video chat and Android 3.0, the next build of the OS, codenamed Gingerbread. However, the device may not appear until February 2011.
It is not clear if this is the same TV tablet the Financial Times reported last week. That device reportedly also has a 10-inch screen.
Moving down the form factor chain, BGR also heard of a Verizon “slab form factor” device like the Motorola Q that is based on Android 2.2 that sports a full touch screen and global roaming.
Joining the popular Motorola Droid and Motorola Droid X, whose availability date is certain to be pushed into September due to high demand and short supply, is the Motorola Droid Pro.
With an alleged 1.3 GHz CPU, this device could be the fastest smartphone ever. The handset, sporting a 4-inch screen and global roaming, could arrive as soon as November this year.
Meanwhile, new information has sprung forth from those following the widely anticipated Droid 2 from Motorola.
An Engadget reader in North Carolina spotted these dummy units of the Droid 2, which costs $199 with a two-year contract.
Update: The device is launching with Android 2.2, aka Froyo, August 12.
