Former CEO and president of ATI, Dave Orton, announced on Tuesday he will be leaving Advanced Micro Devices at the end of the month.

Orton helped oversee his companys merger last year with AMD, and up until now held the post of executive VP at AMD.

According to an AMD statement released on Tuesday, his decision to resign comes as the direct result of that integration process essentially being over.

“With his integration work complete and the successful launch of key graphics and chipset products earlier this year, the time was right for Dave to take his personal and professional life in a different direction,” Dirk Meyer, AMD president and chief operating officer, said in a joint statement with Orton on Tuesday.

Giving no further details about his reasons for leaving, Orton said he had “mixed feelings” about his departure, adding: “I am very optimistic about AMDs future.”
