Alphablox Corp. announced Monday the latest version of its namesake software that extends analytics to the application server layer.

Thanks to integration partnerships, Alphablox 4 allows the companys analytic infrastructure to be embedded into systems and applications powered by IBMs WebSphere and BEA Systems WebLogic Web application servers, enabling users to access information in real-time.

Alphablox 4 also features a server-side programming model to tie in analytics with enterprise applications, and pre-fabricated analytic components called PlanningBlox, that can be used to develop collaborative budgeting, demand planning and forecasting applications.

The end result of these new features is to break down so-called “application silos” in an organization by standardizing analytics across multiple applications, Alphablox officials said.

Alphablox 4 is entering beta and should be available before the end of January. Typical pricing for a 100-user environment will be from $200-300,000 per 100 users.
