MPC Computers is rolling out a server that offers enterprise features such as redundant power supplies and fans and software that can manage all resources within an IT environment.

The NetFrame 6620, announced last week, is powered by up to four Intel Xeon MP processors, with a 667MHz front-side bus and up to 8MB of Level 3 cache.

The redundant and hot-swap components are key features for enterprises that want to be able to keep the systems running even if something needs replacing, according to MPC officials. Five of the seven PCI slots also have hot-plug capabilities.

The MPC Server Manager Professional Edition offers an interface enabling users to manage hardware, operating systems and software from a single administrative console. Other features include out-of-band system monitoring and alerting, server diagnostics, and chassis intrusion alerts.
