Apple iPad ($499.99)

1

The iPad tablet, the current market leader, was the clear favorite for survey participants, beating out Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Samsung Galaxy Tab, with 62 percent of those surveyed requesting an iPad.

Dell Vostro 3000 Series ($599)

2

Notebooks ranked third overall (after the amorphous “other” category) for top Father’s Day tech gifts. Dell’s new line of Vostro notebooks offer Intel chips and fingerprint encryption.

Nikon CoolPix AW100 ($268.99)

3

Out of the 48 percent of dads who would like a tech gift this year, 7 percent said they preferred digital cameras like this waterproof Nikon with GPS and Full HD 1080p video capability.

Panasonic Viera E50 HD LCD TV ($628.99)

4

Available in three sizes (42 to 55 inches) this LED-LCD high-definition television has cloud computing capabilities. TVs were the fifth most-requested tech gift for dads this year.

Amazon Kindle Fire ($199)

5

Although e-readers trailed tablets, tying televisions for fifth place among the most requested Father’s Day gifts, perhaps you can bridge the gap with the touch-screen Kindle Fire, which offers free cloud storage and Amazon’s WhisperSync technology.

Nokia Lumia 900 ($99.99)

6

Mobile phones and smartphones were the third element of a three-way tie between handsets, televisions and e-readers. Nokia’s Lumia 900, sporting Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.5 operating system and a 4.3-inch ClearBlack glass touch-screen should make your dad happy.

Apple iPod Touch ($199.99)

7

MP3 players were the eighth most-requested Father’s Day tech gift, and Apple’s iPod Touch, with iCloud technology, HD video recording and a stunning Retina display (not to mention up to 64GB for storing your tunes) is still the best of the bunch.

Sony SmartWatch ($199.99)

8

Since “other” was the second-highest-ranked tech gift, how about this Web-connected watch, which lets dads check email, Facebook updates or text messages. There are five colors to choose from, too.

Garmin Approach G6 Handheld Touch-Screen Golf Course GPS ($299.99)

9

While sporting goods were only requested by 4 percent of dads surveyed, give your golf gift a high-tech edge by surprising him with this golf course GPS system, preloaded with more than 25,000 courses worldwide.

LaCie Rugged Hard-Disk Triple 1TB Hard Drive ($201.94)

10

Today’s digital dads need more storage than ever for music, movies and photos. This hard drive conforms to military standard 810-F protection, with a shock-absorbing sleeve, aluminum anti-scratch casing, internal rubber bumpers and shock-resistant drive.
