The Google+ team has been hard at work, adding well over 100 features since launching the platform June 28 and releasing it to public beta in September.

One area that hasn’t been addressed much has been Google+ Photos, which were actually pretty solid at launch. What’s better than the Instant Upload feature for Android phones?

Google+ hopes users try Find My Face, a new feature that lets users tag photos. Over the next few days, users will be able to enable the feature in Google+, like so:

As you can see, people who follow you on Google+ will be able to tag your face when it appears in photos and you can accept or reject any instance where someone wants to tag you. Here is Matt Steiner, engineering director for Google+ Photos:

In industry parlance, the approach Google has taken is called opt-in — the approach Facebook failed to take with its very similar Tag Suggestions feature earlier this year, prompting one of the company’s many privacy backlashes.

Google, which also lets users turn off the feature in the Google+ settings, is clearly learning from Facebook’s breaches of consumer trust.
