On Monday, Dell announced that it is moving forward with enterprise-level support, not just for Linux, but also for two more key elements of the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP/Perl) stack: MySQL and JBoss.
MySQL AB Network subscriptions and JBoss Inc.s Network support subscriptions are now available.
A company representative said, “Customers can now turn to Dell for an end-to-end LAMP solution stack comprised of PowerEdge servers, Red Hat Inc.s RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) or Novell Inc. SLES (SuSE Linux Enterprise Server) operating systems, MySQL database application, MySQL Network, JBoss application server software and JBoss Network.”

MySQL is a key part of the popular LAMP stack that can be used to run Web sites and businesses.
At the same time, Dell and Rackspace Ltd., a major Web-hosting company that supports Linux are offering a supported Dell/Linux/MySQL package for companies seeking a hosted LAMP solution for their advanced Web server needs.
You can also now buy JBoss Professional Support offering with the JBoss Network, which delivers services and software to help support and manage the JBoss Middleware environment directly through Dell.

The JBoss Network is made up of a customer support portal that provides access to support case management, knowledge tools and software updates along with an enterprise-management platform that provides inventory management, J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) administration and monitoring of (JEMS (JBoss Enterprise Middleware System).
This move comes on the heels of the recently announced deal between Novell and JBoss for Novell to become the first Linux infrastructure vendor to offer enterprise-level support for JEMS.
