CA has released new backup, recovery, high-availability and replication products, all geared to midmarket companies with the updates’ ease of use, better security and faster data recovery.

Frank Jablonski, director of product marketing for CA Recovery Management, said that this trio of updates is the most significant crop yet from CA’s new Midmarket and Storage business unit, which the company put together in April 2007. The goal of the new unit: to focus specifically on the needs of midmarket customers and their partners.

The new features fit that focus in a host of ways, one of the most consistent being centralized management, Jablonski said. “[It allows you to] manage both local and remote backup,” he said. “That’s valuable for managing remote or branch office data, also with multiple backup servers, which can all be managed from one central location.”
