IBM Makes Storage a Snap for SMBs with N Series Updates

IBM’s new and upgraded storage offerings focus on lower cost, ease of use, flexibility, improved compliance and application integration-just the thing to spark the interest of smaller companies.

The company on Feb. 12 announced what it calls the next generation of storage offerings, the major theme for which is simplification, according to Charlie Andrews, director of product marketing for IBM System Storage.

Enhancements to the N series of storage products-mostly hardware-based NAS (network-attached storage) and SAN (storage area network) appliances-include a new easy-start wizard for initial installation and better application integration with the SnapManager for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.
