Oracle is slated to release 66 security patches in its first update for 2011.

The patches stretch across several of the company’s products, including the Oracle Sun product suite and Oracle Fusion Middleware. According to Oracle’s pre-patch advisory, the company’s flagship database software has six fixes headed its way. Two of these bugs can be exploited over a network without authentication.

Additionally, the update is slated to include the following: 21 patches for Oracle Sun product suite; 16 for Oracle’s middleware products; one patch for Oracle Secure Backup; one for Oracle Audit Vault; two for Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control; two for Oracle Applications; three for the Oracle Supply Chain Product Suite; 10 for the Oracle PeopleSoft and JDEdwards suite; two for Oracle Industry Applications; and two for the Oracle Open Office Suite.

The update is slated to be released Jan. 18.
