The Asha 305 features a 3-inch wide QVGA (WQVGA) resistive touch-screen, Bluetooth and dual-band connectivity, a 2-megapixel camera with video, and a Nokia Browser that crunches data in the cloud, reducing data consumption for users by 90 percent.

The Asha is an Easy Swap dual-SIM phone, meaning users don’t need to power down to switch between cards. It will come in red, cyan, gray and silver-white options, and sell for approximately $78 U.S.

A sister phone to the 305, the 306 shares a number of its features, including a 2MP camera, though is unique in offering WiFi for streaming music and videos. Nokia calls the 306 its most affordable WiFi handset to date.

Designed to appeal to “young, urban people,” according to Nokia, the 306 is available in the same color options as the 305. Though, with its WLAN appeal, it will be priced closer to $85.

The Asha 311, shipping in rose-red, cyan, sand and gray, has a 3.2MP camera, support for Gmail, Windows Live, Hotmail and Yahoo live, as well as 15 levels of Angry Birds. It will be priced around $115.

Owners of all three new Asha phones will be able to download and keep 40 games from Electronic Arts.

The Nokia Asha 305, 306 and 311 all include GPS functionality and come preloaded with Nokia Maps.

Research firm IDC expects the feature phone market to slump by 10 percent this year, though still account for nearly 62 percent of all phone shipments. Smartphones, meanwhile, are expected to grow by nearly 39 percent year-over-year.

The Nokia Lumia 900 smartphone, running Microsoft’s Windows Phone, is Nokia’s give-it-all-we-got effort to compete at the high end of the market, where Android-running phones and the Apple iPhone dominate. By 2016, IDC expects Windows Phone, with help from Nokia, to command 19.2 percent of the worldwide smartphone market, to iOS’ 19 percent share.
