Pantech Upgrades Camera Flip Phone

Pantech Wireless announced Nov. 29 the launch of the Pantech C3, an upgraded version of the companys C300 camera flip phones.

The C3 offers more customization options and a variety of features such as photo and music sharing, instant messaging capabilities, and mobile e-mail services.

The phone is small in size, measuring 2.72 inches tall, 1.69 inches wide and four-fifths of an inch thick when closed. Open, the phone features a bright color screen with large fonts and a VGA camera with flash and zoom.

“Following an increasing trend, this mobile device is designed to easily modify and become the newest fashion statement, accessory and messaging tool,” Mike Cost, chief operating officer of Pantech Wireless, with North American headquarters in Cypress, Calif., said in a news release.

The C3 features a variety of color faceplates that can be changed, and when a customer purchases a C3, the phone comes with both the Secret Blue and Silver options included.

The upgraded camera flip phone also comes with the following features:

  • Mobile e-mail services for Yahoo Mail, AOL and MSN Hotmail
  • Multimedia messaging services, which will enable users to send pictures, sounds and text
  • Downloadable music ringtones
  • Downloadable wallpapers and screensavers
  • High-speed data transmission through GPRS (General Packet Radio Service)
  • Calendar and reminders

According to the release, the C3 is a solid accessory for those who want a mobile phone to complement their lifestyles.

“We strive to provide pace-setting tools that our customers come to be envied for, and the C3 is a perfect example of this approach,” Cost said.

The Pantech C3 camera flip phone is now available exclusively through all Cingular Wireless sales channels for $189.99, or $119.99 with a two-year contract.
