Intel Corp. this week released faster Celeron chips for low-end and consumer desktop PCs.

The Santa Clara, Calif., chip maker on Monday rolled out Celeron processors that run at 2.3GHz and 2.4GHz. The fastest current Celeron runs at 2.2GHz.

Built on Intels 0.13-micron process, the chips also feature a 400MHz front-side bus.

The 2.3GHz Celeron is priced at $117 per 1,000-unit quantities, the 2.4GHz chip at $127.
