Google Reader is turning into quite the launching pad for helping users share content. Now the service lets users post content to Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Blogger,Delicious, MySpace, Reddit and StumbleUpon.

You’ll find this capability in the “Send To” feature under the settings page in Reader. As you can see, if you want to post content to a service that isn’t on the menu here, you can create your own link with a URL template to send content:

I was nervous about last month’s socially-oriented content-sharing features, but I can certainly appreciate tools that help launch content over the wall of a blog reader to other social media sites.

You can also now subscribe to the blogs, photos or Twitter updates that anyone you’re following has included on their Google profile. Click the “From people you follow” tab on the “Browse for stuff” page.

Finally, and as a blessing to someone who reads or at least peruses a hundred pieces per day from Google Reader, the team has made the “Mark all as read” option more granular.

You can tell Reader to mark as read only stories that are older than a day, older than a week or older than two weeks, whittling down the older material to leave you more time for the fresher content. I’m sure more discerning folks prefer more control than that but it suits me just fine.

These new Reader social services are getting some kind treatment at TechMeme here.
