AT&T and Apple on Tuesday announced the long-awaited service plans for the iPhone.

Three plans were announced, starting at $59.99 per month.

All three plans include unlimited data, “visual voicemail,” 200 SMS text messages, roll-over minutes and unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling, AT&T said. Visual voicemail will allow users to visually see what types of voicemail theyve recieved and listen to each one as they wish, rather than in sequence.

The iPhone will be available in a 4GB model for $499 and an 8GB model for $599. The data plans will be priced at $59.99 for 450 minutes, $79.99 for 900 minutes, and $99.99 for 1,350 minutes, AT&T said. An activation fee of $36 will also be charged, the two companies said. Family plans will be available, but they were not disclosed.

“We want to make choosing a service plan simple and easy, so every plan includes unlimited data with direct Internet access, along with Visual Voicemail and a host of other goodies,” said Steve Jobs, Apples chief executive, in a statement. “We think these three plans give customers the flexibility to experience all of iPhones revolutionary features at affordable and competitive prices.”
