Pure Storage, a young but fast-growing all-flash storage provider, on Dec. 11 introduced a group of new-generation, converged-infrastructure packages for enterprises seeking to refresh and speed up their storage IT.
FlashStack CI is a new line of flash storage comprised of storage hardware, comprehensive reference architectures, deployment and sizing guidelines and single-call support, the Mountain View, Calif.-based company said. The reference architectures, which can mix and match other brands of storage componentry, are for virtual-server and virtual-desktop deployments.
FlashStack CI reference configurations are fully tested, pre-validated and proven to streamline the implementation of modern infrastructure, the company said.
Introductory configurations combine Pure Storage FlashArray 400 Series arrays with Cisco UCS blade servers, Cisco Systems Nexus switches, and VMware vSphere 5 and VMware Horizon 6, to provide turnkey and efficient solid-state infrastructure stacks that optimize virtual server (VSI) and VDI deployments at scale, the company said.
For virtual desktops, FlashStack CI for VMware Horizon can scale from hundreds of desktops up to 3,000 in a single standard rack, with sub-millisecond response times, the company said.
For virtualized servers, FlashStack CI for VMware vSphere features high performance infrastructure for business-critical applications, Pure said. FlashStack CI for VSI lets users consolidate hundreds of enterprise-class VMs into a single stack and provision about 1,000 VMs in minutes, while sustaining sub-millisecond response times for mission-critical workloads.
Pure Storage FlashStack CI with single-call support are available to purchase from FlashStack ASPs in select regions, including Datalink in the United States, Proact in the United Kingdom, and Southern Cross in Australia.
