At the HP Software Universe 2010 in Barcelona, Tasktop launches the next version of its Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) integration suite.
BARCELONA,
Spain-At the HP Software Universe 2010 conference here, Tasktop Technologies,
creator of the popular Eclipse Mylyn project and a leader in Agile Application
Lifecycle Management (ALM) integration and productivity, announced Tasktop
Enterprise 1.8, a new version of its ALM integration suite.
Tasktop
Enterprise helps to integrate Agile ALM partner offerings, open-source
solutions and the thriving ecosystem of Mylyn extensions.
Mik
Kersten, creator of Mylyn and CEO of
Tasktop, said Tasktop Enterprise 1.8 is the first release of Eclipse IDE-based
developer tooling for accessing HP Quality Center and the new HP ALM
technology, as well as Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server. In
addition, Tasktop Pro has been updated to support the recently released IBM
Rational Team Concert 3.0. Tasktop is now an HP Gold Partner, a Microsoft
Visual Studio Premium Partner and IBM "Ready
for Rational" Certified.
"Application
Lifecycle Management has become increasingly complex as applications are becoming
larger, relying on a growing number of best-of-breed and open-source solutions,
while remote teams, employee churn and outsourcing are making developer
collaboration and tracking of progress increasingly difficult," Kersten
said in a statement.
"In
this new ALM landscape, organizations need transparency and improved
coordination more than ever, but the heterogeneity of the typical ALM stack is
making that impossible. With our latest release, Tasktop has emerged as
the leader in federating enterprise ALM systems, connecting them to the
developer's desktop and to the Agile planning process."
Tasktop
created its task management tools to help developers be more productive by
making it effortless for them to organize their workaround tasks. Serving as an
ALM integration suite, Tasktop Enterprise has become the de facto standard for
integrating disparate development tools and platforms that are the reality
within today's enterprise software development organizations, Tasktop officials
said. By providing traceability and knowledge sharing between tools and
platforms that are often provided by companies that are competitive, Tasktop
helps reduce the complexity and challenges of successfully scaling Agile
programs beyond small teams.
Organizations
using Tasktop are able to integrate and gain added value from heterogeneous
systems, improve the happiness and productivity of development teams, and
integrate and manage emerging technology platforms, such as cloud computing and
mobile applications, into existing development practices.
Tasktop
Enterprise 1.8 is available for $199 per user per year, and that includes
enhanced support, advanced productivity features, automated time tracking, and
integration for IBM Rational ClearQuest,
ClearCase and Team Concert as well as Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation
Server.
