Cricket Wireless Unveils $70 Unlimited Data Prepaid Smartphone Plan
The new unlimited plan offers Cricket customers another prepaid calling plan option beyond its 2.5GB, 5GB and 10GB monthly data plans.Cricket Wireless customers who need more data than their existing 2.5GB, 5GB or 10GB monthly no-contract, prepaid calling plans can now get an unlimited data mobile plan from the company for $70 a month, or for $65 if they use the company's automatic payment option. The new Cricket Unlimited Plan, which also includes taxes and fees in the monthly $65 or $70 price, was announced on April 15. In addition, the unlimited plan features unlimited talk and texting for one smartphone line. Cricket, a unit of AT&T, is also offering for a limited time a $100 bill credit for customers who switch over from T-Mobile. "We wake up every morning focused on giving our customers what they want—more network, a great customer experience, and better plans for less money," John Dwyer, president of Cricket Wireless, said in a statement. "Cricket has over 275,000 more square miles of 4G LTE coverage than T-Mobile. And our unlimited plan for a single smartphone line is $25 less a month. More coverage for a lot less money—two great reasons to make the switch." Cricket's no-contract prepaid calling, texting and data plans include service in and between the United States, Mexico and Canada for its Unlimited, Pro and Smart plans.
Cricket's other prepaid phone plans include its Basic mobile plan for $40 (with 2.5GB of data), a Smart plan for $50 (with 5GB of data) and a Pro plan for $60 (with 10GB of data). Each of those plans is $5 less per month if customers use Cricket's automatic Auto Pay payment service. The plans also include unlimited talk and text. Data use over the monthly limits will result in reduced access speeds of a maximum 128K bps for the rest of the monthly plan cycle.
