The Dell Latitude E6530 is a good option for desktop managers who are looking to refresh the standard-issue laptop for power users who need a 15.6-inch display and don’t mind carrying a 5-pound-plus device. The comfortable part of this desktop-replacement system is the dreamy keyboard and the wrist-rest finish, which made it easy for me to type for hours in comfort and style.

The Latitude E6530 is a configurable system that can accomodate a range of Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, fast solid-state drive (SSD) and expansive hard-disk drive (HDD) capacity, and enough memory to satisfy most standard business application requirements. This is a good system for high-value employees who rarely travel except to take their laptop to the home office.

As tested, the Latitude E6530 priced out at $2,225 and came with a third-generation Intel Core i7-3520M processor, an HD= (1600×900) anti-glare, LED backlit display, 6GB of DDR3-16,000MHz memory and a 128GB SSD as it’s primary drive.

My test system turned in a respectable 13053 PCMarks using the PCMark Vantage suite of benchmark tests.

With a bright screen and cool, quiet operation, the Dell Latitude E6530 is comparable to a Lenovo T530, an HP EliteBook 8570w Mobile Workstation or the Fujitsu Lifebook E752. The Dell Latitude E6530 started shipping May 12.

Below are views of the system as tested at eWEEK Labs.
