Google continues to dominate the Internet search market, and has of late been taking market share away from Yahoo and Microsoft, according to some new data.

About 60.3 percent of all Internet searches in February were done through Google, up about 0.3 percent from January, according to a new report from ComScore Networks, the Internet traffic monitor.

In a research note issued Monday, Bear Stearns analyst Robert Peck said Google got its new market share mostly from customers of the Yahoo and MSN search engines.

Google's growth in search queries in February outpaced the overall market, ComScore also found. At Google, there were 60 percent more Internet search sessions in February than during the same period a year ago. By comparison, the overall number of search queries grew by 32 percent. |
