Clarizen WorkManagement Adds Google Docs Support

Content management system provider Clarizen on March 16 introduced version 4.5 of its cloud-based WorkManagement service, a competitor to Microsoft's SharePoint.

Fine. Why should anybody care? Well, for one thing, the company's WorkManagement V4.5 adds the ability to edit, upload and create documents in Google Apps. For another thing, Clarizen has an iCalendar integration that enables users to subscribe to their projects-and-tasks calendars and synchronize them with other calendars, such as Outlook, Apple iCal and Google Calendar.

Users then can add tasks, their time lines and milestones directly into iCalendar for real-time synchronization to their team members. That's a huge help within a workflow.

"Clarizen's SaaS solution now combines the strength of operational visibility with access to Google's powerful business collaboration tools. We incorporated key applications like Google Docs and iCalendar to provide agile response to the growing market demand for integrated cloud applications," said Avinoam Nowogrodski, founder and CEO of Clarizen.

"We enable customers to manage not only their projects and resources but also to collaborate through clean scheduling, scalable project views, a simple user interface, integration with Google Docs and many additional features that facilitate strong teamwork and process optimization."
