To illustrate a point on video, the data security and storage company dumps a rack containing a few servers off a tall office building (about 20 stories high) in Silicon Valley.

Rather than simply sending out yet another press release, Symantec is telling its data protection story through a new video that definitely catches some attention.

On it, the data security and storage company dumps a rack containing a few servers off a tall office building (about 20 stories high) in Silicon Valley.  Cameras catch the action from several angles, and the impact--especially for system admins watching it--can be felt almost physically. What a sad end to those hard-working boxes!

The scene is pretty impressive, to say the least. Of course, Symantec then demonstrates how its system software then is able to bring that rack of servers back to life through its high-availability disaster recovery package.

This is one way to illustrate a point. If you don't mind a sales pitch--as if there are no sales pitches hitting you at least 75 times a day--put aside 10:23 and take a look at this video. The Station says check it out.

Here are a few links to the video. One or more may work better than the others on your device.
