AT&T Wireless on Wednesday started selling the BlackBerry 7210 Wireless Handheld, a color-screen device from Research and Motion Inc. that supports both voice and data capabilities.

With a screen that can display 65,000 colors, the device offers wireless access to e-mail and attachments, SMS, Internet and calendar access in addition to working as a phone. It runs in the 900 and1900 MHz GSM/GPRS bands, meaning it has international roaming capabilities.

AT&T is selling the 7210 for $449.99. Service plans vary, but start at $39.99 per handheld per month for data plans and $19.99 per handheld per month for voice plans.

Meanwhile, T-Mobile U.S.A. on Monday began selling the BlackBerry 7230 (see review), which is similar to the 7210 but has additional support for the1800 MHz GSM/GPRS band. T-Mobile is selling the device for $399.99. Service plans vary.
