Rogers Communications Buys Back Shares from AT&T Wireless

Rogers Communications Inc., one of Canadas largest cell phone operators, has agreed to buy the 34 percent in its business owned by AT&T Wireless Services Inc. for about $1.37 billion US. The deal involves 48.6 million shares.

Earlier this summer Rogers agreed to help AT&T Wireless unload its stake in Rogers Wireless by Sept. 30. AT&T Wireless, which is being absorbed by Cingular Wireless, announced it April that due to the merger it would sell its shares in Rogers.
