Drug Firms Slow to Post Results on Internet

Six months after drug companies promised to make results from clinical trials available on the Internet, only five unpublished studies have appeared on the web site the drug companies set up for that purpose. In the wake of revelations that the industry had not published research linking suicide and depression, politicians and medical journal editors called for more data to be made available. The pharmaceutical industry responded by saying it would publish data from clinical studies of marketed drugs.

But according to an article in the Boston Globe, the industry has made little progress. The head of the pharmaceutical industry group defended the pace, saying that companies were still compiling data and that they had a full year to post their studies.
