eWEEK’s new Research Center, a collection of valuable how-to’s, trend reports and research documents from selected IT thought leaders, is now open for business.

The eWEEK Research Center is a new address for special, non-news-related documents that are categorized as either client-sponsored content (such as whitepapers and eSeminars) or editorially produced content, such as eBooks, recordings of live webinars and in-depth articles. In searching the section, users can filter the available resources by topic, type or sponsor.

The Research Center’s main mission is to provide C-level executives, software developers, marketing directors, IT managers and system administrators with a reliable resource for deep-dive assistance in a number of IT sectors.

“We plan to roll out Research Centers across a number of our other sites in the coming weeks,” said QuinStreet Senior Web Marketing Manager of B2B Technology Glen Kunene.

“This is a big step forward in enabling more on-site lead generation and member registrations. It also offers a high-visibility showcase for our clients’ content syndication assets.”

Topics in both the editorial and sponsored sections include applications, communications, databases, data centers, IT management, IT services, mobile IT, networking, PCs and peripherals, security, servers, software development, and storage.

For example, in the Research Center, eWEEK readers will find eBooks currently available on such diverse topics as “Cloud Backup ROI Calculator,” “Turning Big Data Into Useful Information,” and “Next Generation Firewalls: An Introduction.”

Also available in the editorial section are key topics currently on the minds of a great number of CIOs, CTOs and data center administrators. These include big data analytics, big data storage, cloud backup, next-generation firewalls, private cloud and 10 gigabit Ethernet connectivity.

In the sponsored document section, readers will find titles such as “Using Big Data to Improve Information Security” (from IBM), “DDoS and Downtime: Considerations for Risk Management” (from VeriSign), “Virtual Machine Backup: Is Your Organization Doing It Right?” (from Symantec) and “Six Steps to Achieving Data Governance” (from Dell).

eWEEK, which launched a new Innovation subsection last year, continues to evolve. The publication, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in February (the first 16 years it was known as PC Week), recently added video news-roundup reports to its home page. More editorial additions are in development.
