Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Actually, this is related to a plane.

Google’s Flight Deals first hit the skies in August 2025, but now they’re expanding the new platform to include more destinations, languages, and even agentic AI in the form of Canvas.

While the tool was first made available to users in the U.S., Canada, and India, access will be expanded to include Mexico, the U.K., Germany, France, Japan, Brazil, and many others.

What is Flight Deals?

The newest addition to the Google Flights platform, Flight Deals takes advantage of AI to help travelers save money on flights, hotel accommodations, restaurant reservations, and more. By working with the likes of Booking.com, Expedia, Marriott International, and others, you’ll be able to find flights and hotels all around the world.

Jade Kessler, product manager with Google Flights, described the new tool in a recent blog post, saying, “Flight Deals is designed for flexible travelers whose number one goal is saving money on their next trip. Instead of playing with different dates, destinations, and filters to uncover the best deals, you can just describe when, where and how you’d like to travel — as though you’re talking to a friend — and Flight Deals will take care of the rest.”

With the latest updates, Flight Deals will now be available in 200+ countries and territories across the globe. They’re also adding support for 60+ different languages.

What is Canvas?

Built directly into the Flight Deals tool, Canvas takes all the hassle out of making travel arrangements and plans. Users who have opted into Google Labs’ AI Mode can initiate the agentic AI planner by selecting the ‘Create Canvas’ option at the start of their search.

The first thing you’ll probably notice is the Canvas side panel that contains all of the necessary information in one spot. Not only does it include real-time data regarding flights and hotels, but it also includes photos and consumer reviews.

You can even ask it to compare two different flights and provide recommendations for restaurants or other activities. Moreover, since they’re partnered with the likes of Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, StubHub, Vivid Seats, and others, you’re sure to find the best deals on tickets to sporting events, concerts, and more.

Canvas also accepts follow-up questions to further revise its planning strategy. If a particular restaurant is too far from your hotel, for example, you can tell it to filter the results and only include restaurants within a certain distance. You can even make reservations based on your specific needs, such as finding a table for your entire party, making your reservations within a specific timeframe, or locating a restaurant that serves a specific type of dish.

Handing over the controls to AI

Developers with Google plan on optimizing and expanding AI Mode even further in the coming months and years. It’s a concentrated effort that hopes to rid users of the busywork that is typically associated with travel planning — and they’re already off to a great start.

And now, here’s Liz with the weather. Google has unveiled WeatherNext 2, an AI-powered model delivering 8x faster forecasts and improved cyclone tracking.
