Lexmark Targets SMBs with New Printer Line

Lexmark International this week is rolling out five monochrome laser printers for small and midsize businesses, home offices, and small workgroups.

The E330, priced at $399, prints 27 pages per minute. The first page prints in under 8 seconds, said Lexmark officials.

Powered by a 200MHz processor, the E330 has 32MB of memory (expandable to 160MB). It includes USB (Universal Serial Bus) 2.0 and parallel interfaces. The E332n, priced at $499, adds a 10/100BaseTX Ethernet card.

The E330 and the E332n each hold 250 sheets. The E332tn, for $599, adds a 550-sheet tray.

At the low end, Lexmark rolled out the $199 E232, which prints at 22 ppm with a first-printout time of about 8.5 seconds. The unit has a 200MHz processor and 16MB of memory (expandable to 80MB). It comes with USB 2.0 and parallel interfaces. The E232 holds 250 sheets. The E232t, priced at $299, adds a 550-sheet tray.

All models will be available June 1.
