Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) wants to take a second look at the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. “I have been troubled by the possible practical problems that may arise from this (Napster) decision,” Hatch wrote in an open letter to the President.

Hatch might also want to look at Adobes “You may not read this book aloud” restriction on use of its e-book edition of “Alice In Wonderland.” The childrens classic has been in the public domain since 1921.

When queried by SlashDot contributor Art Medlar, Adobe representatives stammered that the restriction was supposed to mean that the text cannot be read aloud “by text-to-speech software.”

Translation: Dont let your PC read bedtime stories to your kids.
