CodeGear is holding its first online developers conference, the CodeRage 2007 Virtual Developers Conference.
CodeGear, the Scotts Valley, Calif., developer tools arm of Borland Software, is currently hosting CodeRage from March 12 to 16, as an effort to bring together the CodeGear developer community to collaborate on the latest development technologies. The conference is free.
CodeGear officials said the event, which is targeted at developers, consultants, students and enthusiasts, will feature streaming session rooms and host more than 50 technical sessions covering development techniques, trends and tools such as the new Delphi for PHP and Delphi 2007 for Win32.
Other CodeGear products that will be highlighted include C++Builder, C#Builder, JBuilder 2007 and InterBase.
Among the sessions developers will have access to are: Whats New in Delphi 2007; Extreme Programming: In a Delphi Context; Making the Switch to Eclipse and JBuilder 2007; and Using AJAX to Extend Delphi Web Applications, the company said.
“CodeRage is doing well,” said Allan Bauer, chief scientist at CodeGear. “Were maxing out our bandwidth to the point where they asked the CodeGear employees to not listen in live, so we can get as many connected as possible. I guess that is a good problem to have.”
The online conference also will feature a virtual exhibit hall, and “attendees” will receive discounts for products. Attendees also will be able to chat with each other as the event goes on.
