A pair of it consultancies last week aligned themselves with vendors in the promising SAN- and service-level-management spaces.

RJ Technology Solutions Inc. officials said the company has joined InfoVista Corp.s new partner program to provide implementation services built around InfoVistas performance management suite. RJ Technology Solutions, of Farmington Hills, Mich., chose the InfoVista software because of its flexibility and open architecture, officials said. InfoVistas tools have continued to sell—despite the downturn in IT spending—as the Paris-based vendor last week announced that its revenue increased by 6 percent for its 2002 fiscal year over 2001.

InfoVista also announced last week the appointment of a new president of North American operations. Robert Seebold will oversee InfoVista operations from its U.S. headquarters in New York. Seebold, a former executive of IBMs Tivoli Systems, is charged with helping InfoVista meet its growth goals for North America.

Meanwhile, in storage area network management, Greenwich Technology Partners Inc. this week signed on to become one of the first InterSAN Inc. professional services providers.

The White Plains, N.Y., consulting and systems integration company has one implementation of InterSANs Pathline software under its belt at Chicago banking behemoth Northern Trust Co.

Greenwich Technology Partners chose the InterSAN tool because it believes the tool provides best-of-breed functionality, according to Brandon Lambert, practice leader for systems and storage, in Denver.

“We liked what we had seen with their product—the policy provisioning, policy management and chargeback capabilities, and the reporting. We see a lot of storage needs now within companies trying to create the service provider model with internal lines of business. They need guaranteed quality of service, and they need a way to report back what each customer is using,” Lambert said. “We recognized InterSAN was creating that capability, and they were the company to encompass all those [capabilities] for a [storage services provider] in one product.”
