Access denied Responding to the ever-increasing number of Web site defacements, WatchGuard Technologies Inc., of Seattle, this week will release a product designed to prevent attackers from gaining access to Web server content.

Rules for protection Known as AppLock, the software automatically searches for Web content on the server and walks the administrator through a series of steps to implement rules for which content should be protected. AppLock is designed for small businesses and enterprise customers that dont have dedicated security staffs. AppLock sells for $595 and is available now through online retailers.
