Yesterday we brought you new details about Google’s office in Manhattan. It took me days to get that info. Days. Today I find that Yahoo just blithely throws open its doors for a video walking tour. (Albeit a very fast walking tour. That speed effect has got. To. Go.)

Yes, Yahoo debuted its corporate blog yesterday. The company already had blogs for its products, just like Google, but no centralized repository of all things Yahooligan.

The first post features the aforementioned video, which reveals that Yahoo is so hip, their offices come complete with a tiny, vaguely-ethnic coffee barista who — ooo, how authentic — wears actual horn-rimmed glasses.

The video also reveals that Yahoo’s interior is still painted in hues of dot-com fun. The color scheme is very Snorks meets Timothy Leary. I feel like someone just shoved a pastel pinecone in my eye, which may or may not have anything to do with the video.

Also revealed: Yahoo has fun names for its conference rooms. Like, Slinky. And Tinker Toy. And Chunky Monkey. That definitely gives them a creative leg up on Google, which will be naming their new conference rooms in Manhattan after “New York places.”

The best quote in the video comes from Yahoo’s groundskeeper, whom we’ll refer to as Mellors to satisfy our sense of literary innuendo: “Even the flowers at Yahoo are purple.”

What fun!

Google execs have said before that Google is trying harder to shed its image of secrecy and superciliousness. Looks like Yahoo is showing them how.
