Cisco Systems Inc. on Monday unveiled routers and other software products that support an effort launched last year to build features that combat security threats such as viruses into network infrastructure. Ciscos Network Admission Control (NAC) functionality gives customers the ability to restrict network access from devices such as PCs, servers and PDAs that are not compliant with a users established security policies in areas including operating system patch level or antivirus state. The company will expand its NAC program to switch and remote access VPN products later this year.
