Worlds First Mobile Virus Is Not Lethal, Yet

A group of underground virus writers recently sent a “proof of concept” worm that propagates via mobile phones to the antivirus companies Kapersky Lab of Russia and Symantec Corp. The virus attempts to jump from phone to phone by using the handsets Bluetooth connection. The infected file must be accepted by the mobile phone user and then installed before it can propagate. The worm is designed to work in smartphones running on Symbian and Series 60 software, Symantec said on its Web site.
