Lenovo’s ThinkServer family expanded with the release of two ThinkServer appliances featuring Intel Xeon processor technology and low price points to suit the needs of small to medium-size businesses. The single processor TS130 and TS430 leverage the latest Xeon E3-1200 processors, which offer up to 30 percent better performance than previous generations.
The ThinkServer TS130 and TS430 server start at $499 and $699, respectively.
Lenovo said the servers are ideal for front office, retail or back office deployment, and include RAID and storage configurations as well as remote manageability features that help manage customers’ networks. Equipped with new Intel AMT 7.0 manageability tools, the ThinkServer TS130 comes with a slew of storage choices, onboard RAID and remote manageability features aimed at small businesses that require server-grade quality at a reasonable price point.

The scalable ThinkServer TS430 offers the option for a sizable 16TB of hot-swap storage capacity, SAS RAID data protection and redundant power choices. The company said it suits demanding environments requiring high capacity, high performance and 24/7 uptime. The rackable TS430 also offers front-side drive access and a ThinkServer Management Module with available iKVM, an implementation of Java for Mono and the Microsoft .NET Framework.

The TS130 and TS430 offer a server solution with a broad array of ThinkServer Ready components that address specific business needs. Customers can choose data backup options like LTO and RDX tape storage, UPS for network protection as well as battery backup. Each are tested and certified for the ThinkServer from TrippLite and Tandberg Data. In addition, users have access to a variety of Microsoft solutions such as Small Business Server 2011 Essentials or Standard for customers who require networking, security, PC backup choices, and email and database capabilities.
Lenovo also announced the ThinkCentre M71e, an entry-level desktop that features second-generation Intel Core i processors, rapid boot-up and security authentication features. Additionally, the desktop’s View Management Utility and Password Manager Software to manage passwords for encrypted drives give enhanced security, while the desktop also supports up to four individual monitors for working with lots of visual information.
Lenovo’s Enhanced Experience 2.0 capability allows users to power on and begin working in 15 seconds, and the desktop also meets Energy Star guidelines and U.S. EPEAT Gold specifications to help reduce costs through efficient power consumption.
The ThinkCentre M71e desktop starts at $529 and will be available beginning in July, according to a release from the company.
