New network-attached storage products from EMC Corp. aim to give small- and mid-size companies more storage options, officials said today.

The new NAS models, available now, include an entry-level version of the Celerra NS600, and two versions with external storage. The previously announced NetWin 200 is also now available, the company, based in Hopkinton, Mass., said.

Celerra is EMCs NAS hardware family. The existing CNS clustered version attaches to external high-end Symmetrix or midrange Clariion arrays, with capacities up to 52TB (with Fibre Channel drives) or 116.7TB (with ATA drives). The existing NS600 version links to the Clariion CX600, with a capacity of 8TB with Fibre Channel, or 30.7TB with ATA disks.

The new NS600S version cuts costs by using a single controller and peaking at 4TB of Fibre Channel or 15.4TB of ATA drives. The NS600S starts at $114,000 for 1TB, though street prices arent yet disclosed, the company said.

In addition, new non-clustered external models connect to Clariion CX600 or CX400 storage, and are called the NS600GS and NS600G.

The ATA choices are parallel models, as EMC still hasn¹t finished qualifying Serial ATA models, officials said.

NetWin 200 connects a Windows Storage Server 2003-based NAS, formerly called Windows Server Appliance Kit, to the low-end Clariion CX200. For 500GB, it costs $32,000, officials said.
