Is there a hard drive for mobile users that can hold plenty of data but isnt the size of a miniature metal brick?

Amazingly, Toshibas latest 1.8-inch Type 2 PC Card (Model K5002MPL) can hold as much as 5GB of data yet is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and thin enough to fit in your wallet like a credit card—not that anyone would carry it there because the drive comes with a handy carrying case.

Available now for $499, the PC Card hard drive is an upgrade to Toshibas $299 2GB offering, which initially shipped for $599. Weighing less than 2 ounces, the new drive fits easily into any laptops PCMCIA slot.

I can see this product being useful for taking PowerPoint presentations, graphics and even video clips on the road, but, compared with other mobile hard drives such as the external LaCie PocketDrive (holding 10GB and priced at $329), the Toshiba drive costs a lot more for less storage. What most people will like about the Toshiba drive is that it doesnt require power and data cables and is easier to use.
