Today’s topics include the new ThoughtSpot 5 gaining voice-driven SearchIQ analytics, and Docker partnering with Salesforce’s Mulesoft for container applications.

Business-intelligence analytics company ThoughtSpot on Nov. 14 unveiled the latest version of its software, ThoughtSpot 5, featuring a new voice-driven analytics engine called SearchIQ. SearchIQ lets people use their own voice and “casual language” to ask the system to analyze data from customers and a wide range of other sources such as product sales, returns and human resources.

ThoughtSpot said it is using advances in machine learning, artificial intelligence and automation to not only offer a solution designed to help companies analyze the current state of their business but to also predict what’s going to happen next.

According to Ajeet Singh, ThoughtSpot’s co-founder and executive chairman, ThoughtSpot 5 is a full-stack solution with a robust search engine at its core. The company has partnered on machine learning with Google and DataRobot and integrated with statistical software R to streamline data science workflows.

Docker Inc. announced on Nov. 15 a partnership with Salesforce’s Mulesoft division, providing integration between the Docker Enterprise platform and the Salesforce Mulesoft Anypoint platform, which enables organizations to design, build and manage APIs.

Betty Junod, vice president of product marketing at Docker, said, “The partnership with Mulesoft provides the ability for Docker apps to leverage the business logic and data within the Salesforce clouds and ecosystem of applications.”

The initial focus of the integration is around the platforms used in enterprise deployments. According to Docker, any new applications created in Docker will be automatically securable, accessible and discoverable from the Mulesoft Anypoint platform. As each new application exposes new services in the customer’s application network, organizations benefit from greater reuse and agility, while also improving developer productivity.
